TJ & Rita Webb

The business of business

Earlier this year, TJ was laid off from his job, and we’ve been putting extra effort into our books and our publishing business to try to replace his income. This has included recreating many of our eBook covers, making paperback books available, rewriting our blurbs, and learning how to do Amazon ads.

Cover of The E Myth RevisitedWe’ve been reading books on business and marketing, such as The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber, The Adweek Copywriting Handbook by Joseph Sugarman, and How to Write Copy That Sells by Ray Edwards. Then comes the job of implementing what we’re learning. Writing our business plan. Writing down our processes in an Operating Manual. Setting a budget. Planning, planning, and more planning.

A few short paragraphs to describe months and months of work, on top of everything we’re doing to write books as well. Let’s just say, it’s exhausting.

Exhausting but rewarding. I’m so thankful how much we’ve learned and accomplished. God has really blessed us this year. How about you? What have you accomplished this year that you’re proud of?
